Swampscott Now Offers Online Dog Licensing

Keeping your pooch legal just got easier.

It’s dog license season in Swampscott and the town is making it easier than ever to make sure your pooch is properly documented.

As we told you earlier this week, you have until Jan. 31 to license Fido without incurring a late fee or being subject to possible “Failure to License” citations and fees.

Now, according to the Town of Swampscott website, dog owners can complete all the necessary steps from the comfort of their homes (and isn’t that a welcome development given the ridiculous temperatures these days). Just head to the nearest computer and license Fido online.

You’ll still need to supply a rabies vaccination certificate, but you can simply upload it via the online system, fill out the form, pay the appropriate licensing fee ($10 for spayed/neutered dogs and $25 for intact dogs) and Voila! Fido has a license.

Of course, you’re also still able to obtain licenses in-person at town hall or via mail.
