Town of Chelmsford Participating in National Grid Energy Efficiency Program
Town to Partner with Next Step Living® to Educate Homeowners on Energy-Saving Solutions

National Grid announced in June 2014 that Chelmsford is among five towns they have selected for Energy Initiatives in 2014/2015. Chelmsford will receive incentive funding from National Grid to encourage residents to participate in Mass Save®, a program that offers no-cost home energy audits and access to no-cost or discounted home energy solutions. The town of Chelmsford is pleased to announce it is partnering with Next Step Living®, the Northeast’s leading provider of whole-home energy solutions to help Chelmsford homeowners and renters lower their monthly utility bills and live more sustainably.
“We share a commitment with Chelmsford to help reduce residents’ carbon footprint, lower energy costs and improve the comfort of their homes,” said Gabe Shapiro, vice president of outreach programs at Next Step Living.
By getting a no-cost home energy assessment, residents will help the Town of Chelmsford reach its efficiency goals set by National Grid. Residents are also encouraged to explore upgrades including efficient heating systems, hot water systems, refrigerator upgrades and insulation work.

“The Town of Chelmsford is working hard to exceed the goals established by National Grid,” Bob Andrews, chair of the Energy Committee, says. “By partnering with a leading home energy solutions company like Next Step Living, we hope to reach our goal faster. We encourage all residents to sign up for a no-cost home energy assessment.”
As an introduction to energy efficiency, residents can get an assessment, which takes just a few hours and includes some Instant Savings Measures that a Next Step Living home energy advisor can implement on the spot. At the end, you’ll have recommendations for saving money, improving your comfort, and making your home more environmentally friendly.
