It was a horse race and the winner of the Sandwich Stakes won in a photo finish.
The Captain, as in , pounded to the wire and won by a nose in the first race of the Patch Best of Swampscott contest.

"They treat you like family when you come in, knowing your name by your 3rd visit," . "They always have given pizzas to the Big Blue Football team after wins since the 90s. When I needed pizza for a fundraiser that raised 3k for the salem food pantry hosted by the www.northshorenetworking.org they were at their quota, but still gave us 3 pizzas."
Back tot he restr of the field, Cindy's received 23 votes and Tony got 20.
It looked like the jockeys played fair. No fouls were claimed.
The winner of the race will receive a certificate from Patch.
