CAROLS FROM AROUND THE WORLD

This is a description of the program for Carols From Around the World

The choir and handbell choir of Central Congregational Church with friends from surrounding communities are presenting a Christmas concert of Carols from Around the World on Sunday December 21 at 4:00 at the church.

The choir will sing carols from Scotland, France, Italy, Germany, Ukraine, and the United States. The centerpiece of the program is A Ceremony of Carols by England’s Benjamin Britten. A harp accompanies the work and adds a celestial touch.

“Some of the carols are very familiar such as Angels We Have Heard on High and O Come, O Come Emmanuel,” said Frances Burmeister, conductor. “Some are Advent carols and are less known. And there are a couple of new, cutting edge ones, too. These will stretch your mind in a good way.”
