Community Teamwork Celebrates 50 Years of Changed Lives

Community Teamwork of Lowell celebrates the 50 years of tremendous impact it's had on the community, through its vast services and programs.

Changing Lives Since 1965

Much has changed in our area since the ‘60s -- our population, civic and state leadership, and the cost of living to name a few -- but one thing has withstood the test of time: Community Teamwork, Inc. Originally created through the sweeping legislation of LBJ’s “Great Society” to help people find a way out of poverty, CTI has never lost its focus on serving the people of Greater Lowell, Middlesex, and Essex counties. With the rapid passage of time, Community Teamwork has continually developed ways to better help individuals or families in crisis, reduce homelessness, and allowed people to achieve their dreams through GED courses, small business development, and financial planning services. Everything that CTI does is geared toward bridging the gap that stands between them and their independence. This is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the enormous impact this agency has had on our community.

For all these reasons and more, the Community Teamwork staff and many of those who’ve been impacted by its efforts will gather at 6 p.m. on May 13 at the Tsongas Center to not only celebrate changed lives, but to raise funds that are crucial to their continued operation. CTI is a nonprofit that has been strongly supported by community businesses, families, and individuals. Nothing they do is possible apart from people (even readers like you) catching their vision and joining forces in bridging independence for our neighbors. For more information on the gala, making donations or purchasing tickets, please visit their events page and explore all the exciting things on their website.

Community Teamwork impacts all of us on our way to a better, improved future. Let’s continue down this road together!
