Those patients were forced to find alternative treatment centers close to Boston. According to an article <a href="http://www.lowellsun.com/todaysheadlines/ci_21381533/detox-at-tewksbury-hospital-reopening-3-6-months#ixzz24Mv9GPhd" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">appearing in the Lowell Sun</a>, Gov. Deval Patrick has decided to increase the State Department of Mental Health reimbursement from $222 to $286 per patient per day. In addition, the number of beds at the facility will increase from 24 at the time it closed to 32.
