Go Inside The World Of Beekeeping With Tewksbury Honey On July 14

Learn about the honeybee from Tewksbury's Julie Kelley

TEWKSBURY, MA – Go inside the world of beekeeping with Tewksbury beekeeper Julie Kelley on Thursday, July 14 at 7pm.

Join Kelley, co-owner of Tewksbury Honey, to learn all about the Honey Bee -- the amazing lives of bees; beehives; problems with colonies; beekeeping; honey production; and the importance of pollination. Did you know, for example, that pollinators are directly responsible for 33% of our food supply? Kelley will discuss what can be done to help the honey bee population survive and thrive!

The Kelley family -- Julie, her husband Mike and children Kathryn and Sean -- own and maintain 40 hives around Tewksbury, including two on the grounds of the Tewksbury Public Library. The honey generated from the hives at the library will be donated to the Tewksbury Community Pantry. Tewksbury Honey sells honey and honey products online and at several area Farmers Markets, including Billerica and Tewksbury. Learn more about Tewksbury Honey on their website,www.tewksbury.com. Read more about the hives at the library from this recent Tewksbury Advocate article HERE.
