Author Ted Elliman will discuss his new book, "Wildflowers of New England."

TEWKSBURY, MA – Ted Elliman, one of the country’s preeminent experts in wildflowers, will discuss his new book, “Wildflowers of New England,” on Tuesday, May 17, from 7pm to 8pm, at the Tewksbury Public Library.

Attendees will enjoy a multimedia presentation highlighting many of the 900+ species of flowers commonly found in the wetlands, meadows and woods of New England. Hikers, naturalists, gardeners, and anyone wishing to learn more about the region’s diverse wildflowers, or just wanting to know the answer to "What’s that plant?, will appreciate the evening.

Ted Elliman currently works as a plant ecologist for the New England Wild Flower Society in Framingham, where he conducts botanical inventories, does natural community surveys, and supervises invasive species control programs. He has been engaged in botanical work in New England and other northeastern states for over 30 years.

Adults, high school students and middle school students from Tewksbury and beyond are invited to attend this free hour-long event. A Q&A and book selling and signing – for those interested – will take place after the presentation. Due to limited space, attendees are asked to pre-register and reserve their seats by calling 978-640-4490 x 205, emailing rhayes@mvlc.org, or visiting the library’s online calendar of events at www.tewksburypl.org.
