2. 2 Charged With Trafficking Fentanyl, Cocaine In Tewksbury, Police Say (patch.com) — Police say two men were recently arrested in Tewksbury after narcotics officers spotted a suspected drug deal on Main Street, seizing fentanyl, cocaine, and cash. The suspects, from Methuen and Lawrence, face trafficking charges and were scheduled for arraignment in Lowell District Court. Residents may notice increased enforcement activity around town following the bust.

3. Tewksbury Town Meeting refers articles to Surveillance Technology Advisory Committee (lowellsun.com) — Tewksbury voters have sent two major surveillance-technology articles to a new advisory committee, delaying any bylaw changes until at least the 2027 Annual Town Meeting while residents are recruited to serve. The same Special Town Meeting approved Tewksbury's $5.68 million share of Shawsheen Tech's revised budget and decisively rejected ending mailed warrant booklets, after residents argued seniors and civic participation would be hurt.

Tewksbury Fire Chief Joseph Kearns set to retire later this month (lowellsun.com) — Tewksbury's longtime Fire Chief Joseph Kearns, a town native who joined the department in 1988, will retire Oct. 16 after more than 30 years of service. He highlights improvements to staffing, equipment, and EMS, including expansion of a second ambulance, and praises the dedication of local firefighters. Residents can expect newer leaders to continue building on his work.

With a heavy helping of Will Harrison, highly-motivated Tewksbury bounces back against Billerica (bostonglobe.com) — Tewksbury football fans saw their team roar back on the road, scoring 21 unanswered points behind quarterback Will Harrison to hand Billerica its first loss. With big plays from Harrison and a 64-yard touchdown run by Cameron Lanziero, the Redmen improved to 4-1 and showed how a focused week of practice can quickly change a season's momentum.
