Tewksbury Coronavirus Update: Bulk Waste Collection Suspension
Republic Services will temporarily stop collecting bulk waste, yard waste and overflow bags, April 1.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Republic Services is suspending bulk waste, yard waste and overflow bag collection April 1, the town announced Thursday. Regular trash and recycling collection is unchanged, the town said.
The change is in response to an expected reduction in staffing and an increase in trash, according to the announcement. The company expects residential trash to increase 30 percent due to people staying home. At the same time, they expect to lose personnel due to quarantine and isolation, pulling people from the bulk and yard waste divisions.
"All residents will need to use their regular trash and recycling toters only since all other items outside the toter will not be collected," the town said. "We ask our residents for help during this emergency by limiting the volume of trash disposal as much as possible. "
