Tewksbury Green stays hot in youth tackle. More updates from Sept. 27th...

Green remained undefeated with a win over town rival Blue, while plenty of flag football action took place last weekend in Tewksbury.

Tewksbury Green 26, Tewksbury Blue 0

After a tightly played first half, Tewksbury Green was able to pull away late highlighted by a Nicky DeSisto 55-yard interception return for a touchdown - his second pick of the day. The Green squad continued its balanced offensive attack with three different players finding the end zone, including a Tyler Sanon 50-yard TD run and a Jaden Maxi 53-yard touchdown scamper. The offensive line effort of Anthony Monteiro, Cam Kingston, Shane Spurr, and Connor Farnum opened big holes for the rushing offense. On the defensive side, Angelo DeSisto, Ben Christopher, and Ethan Martins had strong performances.

Blue kept things close in the first half, down just 6-0, and nearly found paydirt when QB Vincent Ciancio hit Will Holloway on a terrific pass downfield deep into Green territory. Anthony DiFranco came up with a big strip fumble and recovery for Blue late in the first half. Tewksbury Blue will try and get back to their winning ways hosting Winnacunnet on Saturday, while the undefeated Green have a bye week.

Junior Division
5th & 6th Grade

Tewksbury Red Pride A 30, Exeter West 0

The Red Pride struck quickly on Colin Fraser’s first of three touchdowns on the day - a 53-yard run behind the impressive blocks of Mike Sullivan, Matt Duggan, and Richie Bongiorno - and never looked back in a shutout win over Sanborn. Nick DeGloria added a long touchdown run with a pair of two-point conversions to round out Red’s offensive output. The stout defensive effort was led by a Michael Sullivan interception and forced fumble, while teammate Matt Duggan snagged a pick and pitched in on special teams with a key punt block. The trio of Justin Darrigo, Keith Johnston, and Max Mattuchio collected 3 tackles for loss apiece on the game.

Tewksbury Red Pride B 6, Sanborn 6

The Junior Red Pride B team fought hard in a 6-6 tie against a formidable Sanborn Jr. Indian team. Defense set the tone for Red, led by defensive end Alex Arbogast and his impressive 10-tackle day, three of those for losses. Noah Russes pitched in at the other defensive end position with seven tackles, two of those stops taking place in the Sanborn offensive backfield. Also contributing with 3 or more tackles each were Cameron Kearney, Hunter Johnston, and Kenny Ryder. Other defensive standouts included AJ Loder, Trevor LaFave, and Ryan Bentchater. Down by six points, Ajani Seney slashed his way through the Sanborn defense to even the score for Red’s lone TD on the day. The effective punting of Tewksbury’s Mike Parisi shined in the battle of field position.

K-2 Division

Light Blue 37, Green 6

Light Blue had a solid all-around team win with long touchdown runs by Corey Konaxis and Alex Bouchie. Luc Bouchie and Evan Brothers spearheaded a strong defensive effort for the Light Blue squad. Enzo Iannuzzi scored the lone touchdown for the Green squad, while Max Curley, Shayne Welch, and Bryce Vongas put forth strong defensive efforts.

Maroon 18, Gold 0

Maroon had a strong game on offense in the victory, highlighted by touchdown runs from Logan Augustyniak, Michael Kelly, and Will Harrison. Aron Ziniti and Patrick Quinlan had some great flag pulls on defense in the shutout win, while Jackson Schofield had a strong game all around. On the Gold side, Cameron Manstangelo and Aiden McLaine had solid runs, while the defense of Ben Shepard and Oliver Greene held Maroon in check in the second half.

Orange 20, Black 18

Orange was able to punch one in late to take down Black in a back-and-forth affair. Jason DiPalma paced Black with two long rushing touchdowns, while Aaron Annese added an elusive TD score. Brayden Collado had a great day pulling flags for Black, while teammate TJ Garvey showcased excellent pass coverage.

Navy Blue 12, Royal Blue 0
Red 19, Purple 18

3rd-4th Grade Division

Red 18, Maroon 6

Jackson Goldman shined for Red in the victory, pulling some key flags in the Maroon backfield while contributing an exciting long touchdown run. Logan Jackson also had a lengthy TD run for Red, while teammate Phil Lombardi added a pick-six that rounded out the Red scoring. David Benassi added a key first down run in the second half to keep the clock moving. On the Maroon side, Cameron Thompson made a slick catch over the middle to set up the team's lone score on a run by Andrew Ryder.

Navy Blue 36, Royal Blue 24

Sean Callahan took the first handoff of the game the length of the field and added two more touchdowns on the day to help lead Navy Blue past Royal in a terrific game. Ayden Annese had a big interception for the victors and added a pair of touchdowns, while Jason Mitchell intercepted the last play of the game and brought it back for a TD. Connor Flynn had key stops on defense for Navy.

Black 21, Orange 12

5th-6th Grade Division

Royal Blue 28, Navy Blue 6

Royal Blue continued their hot start to the season, moving on to 3-0 with a strong overall effort. Blue captains Ryan Sorrentino and Sam MacMillan led the squad, with Sorrentino finding his way in the end zone for his first TD of the season. Cam Kearney had a big pick six for Blue, while teammate Kyle Cummings added a pair of touchdowns in the win.
