Town Air Quality is Bad

How did this town and the state of Massachusetts allow a massive pig factory to exist here? The Krochmal operation is just that, an operation, not a farm. Thousands of confined pigs. How does the town benefit from that operation?We get the ground and the air pollution while the money is made. We get a long winter followed by an inability to open windows with the arrival of spring. We get horrible pig dung odor at our schools, on our ball fields, inside our homes. This is a very sad, awful thing that has happened. Something must be done to change it. A business should not be allowed to dictate if we can have FRESH AIR. EVEN INSIDE MY HOUSE, the Krochmal operation says I CANNOT HAVE FRESH AIR!!!! IT SAYS THAT I MUST SMELL AND BREATHE HORRIBLE DUNG ODOR REGULARLY. WHAT???!!!!!!! UNBELIEVABLE!! The expansion of the Krochmal operation occurred with no permit, no notice to the people of this town, and is having MAJOR impact on our lives. NO FRESH AIR anymore. Isn’t clean air a basic right? We are holed up, windows closed, buying air conditioning we don’t need. Dealing with sneezing and burning noses from dung and chemical exposure. Something has to be done. It’s all so very wrong. We need to demand the return of the clean air we once had. We need to be able to once again OPEN OUR WINDOWS, BE IN OUR YARDS. There once was a farm in South Tewksbury but in 2005, that changed to something MUCH different. It’s called a CAFO and it should not be there.
