World Renowned Bee Expert Noah Wilson-Rich To Speak On May 10 At Tewksbury Library

Author Noah Wilson-Rich will discuss his book, "The Bee: A Natural History."

TEWKSBURY, MA – World renowned bee expert Noah Wilson-Rich will discuss his book, “The Bee: A Natural History,” on Tuesday, May 10, from 7pm to 8pm, at the Tewksbury Public Library.

Wilson-Rich will explore the vitally important role that bees play in the life of our planet.

“Bees pollinate more than 130 fruit, vegetable, and seed crops that we rely on to survive, while playing a crucial role in the reproduction and diversity of flowering plants,” says Wilson-Rich. “The economic contributions of bees measure in the tens of billions of dollars each year.”

“Yet bees are dying at an alarming rate, threatening food supplies and ecosystems around the world,” he cautions. “Come learn why and what can be done to reverse this trend.”

Wilson-Rich is founder and chief scientific officer of The Best Bees Company, a Boston-based research organization and beekeeping service. His book, “The Bee: A Natural History,” has been called “an everyman's guide to all things bee.” An avowed expert in his field, he is a highly regarded biologist, professor, beekeeper, author, two-time TEDx speaker, and New York Times contributor. Wilson-Rich was also named “one of the sexiest scientists alive” by Business Insider.

Adults, high school students and middle school students from Tewksbury and beyond are invited to attend this free hour-long event. A Q&A and book selling and signing – for those interested – will take place after the presentation. Due to limited space, attendees are asked to pre-register and reserve their seats by calling 978-640-4490 x 205, emailing rhayes@mvlc.org, or visiting the library’s online calendar of events at www.tewksburypl.org. The event will take place in the library’s first-floor, handicap-accessible Meeting Room. The library is located at 300 Chandler Street, at the corner of Chandler and Main Street (Route 38).
