Aug. 15 Last Day To Register For Sept. 4 State Primary
Registered voters should make sure they've returned census forms to Town Clerk's office.

WAKEFIELD - Town Clerk Betsy Sheeran is urging registered voters to be sure that their census form has been returned to her office. Up-to-date census forms will eliminate any confusion should the registered voter have questions with regards to her/his party affiliation and/or the precinct to which the registered voter is assigned.According to M.G.L., those registered voters who have not returned the census form for two consecutive years are listed as "Inactive." A resident who is listed as "inactive" must fill out a form at the polls and provide identification before she/he is allowed to vote.
It is important to note that the last day to register to vote in the September Primary Election is Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 5 p.m. That date is also the last day on which a registered voter may change her/his party affiliation.
Please contact the Office of the Town Clerk with any questions.
