Basic Digital Photography Workshop at WCAT November 12th and 13th

WAKEFIELD – In advance of the fast approaching holiday season, with all its fantastic lights and decorations, local photographer-filmmaker David Watts, Jr. has announced the latest Basic Digital Photography Workshop. The workshop consists of two sessions in a single weekend on Saturday, November 12th and Sunday, November 13th from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm. As with previous workshops, this workshop is being held in Studio A at Wakefield Community Access Television (WCAT) at the rear of Wakefield High School.

“This workshop is designed to be very close to the way that I first learned still photography so many years ago but with a focus here on digital,” said Watts. “This is an opportunity to learn not just the nuts and bolts of photography, but to delve into the craft itself. Workshop students will be able to apply skills to photographing the color and excitement of the upcoming holidays.”

The workshop will be presented in five sections over the two days:

  • The Print

Each section will build on those previously covered to give participants a fuller understanding not just of the technical aspects, but to provide an exploration and appreciation of the creativity behind making a photograph. The hope is that participants will bring to the workshop lively discussions along the way

The workshop is open to anyone with a digital still camera, whether a simple point-and-shoot with a fixed lens all the way up to a more complex digital SLR (DSLR) with interchangeable lenses. WCAT members may attend the workshop for free, as part of their membership; the cost for non-members is $50.00.
