Boys & Girls Clubs of Stoneham and Wakefield to host Community Yard Sale

Club and Chamber join forces to help community ...

STONEHAM/WAKEFIELD, Ma. — The Boys & Girls Club of Stoneham and Wakefield is proud to announce that they have joined forces with the Stoneham Chamber of Commerce to host this year’s Community Yard Sale at the new Stoneham Middle School at 101 Central Street on Saturday, April 2, from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm.

When asked about the partnering for the event, Executive Director Adam Rodgers had this to say, "We are excited to be partnering with the Chamber to continue this great community event. We need to thank Chris Oneschuck and the SHS 1982 Beautification Fund for all their help in making this such an easy transition. We're looking forward to it."

To help make this a community event, the Club is asking all members of the community to pitch in by donating items that are no longer of use. "We hope this event solves two issues. One, on a practical level it allows residents to clean their home. Two, it turns those items that may have been thrown away, into donations for scholarships, programs, and more for our members,” said Boys & Girls Club Director of Development Anthony Guardia.

Along with the Yard Sale itself, the event will also feature 40+ vendors in the gym to learn more about health and continued wellness. Last year, the event brought in 500+ members of the community and it is expected to bring even more this year.

“The Chamber is very pleased to be partnering with the Boys & Girls Club of Stoneham and Wakefield for its 6th annual Health & Wellness Expo.” Says Bob Lee, Expo Chair and Chamber Director.

“Proceeds from their indoor yard sale will help the Club further their good work with the youth in our community.”

If you are interested in donating to this event, all items must be dropped off Friday, April 1, between the hours of 4:00- pm - 9:00 pm at the Stoneham Middle School Cafeteria. The event itself is Saturday, April 2, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm and any items that are not sold will be donated to the Stoneham and Wakefield Senior Centers. We look forward to seeing you there!
