Malone Breaks Wakefield High's 55-Meter Dash Record

Patty Malone continues her stellar season.

Patty Malone has really made a name for herself on the track over the past few years competing for the Warriors. The outstanding senior sprinter has really shined.

Malone originally started off as a 400 meter runner, but dropped down in distance to the 100 meter dash last spring. That seemed to be a wise move since it led her all the way to the All State meet, an incredible accomplishment. This season, she has been dominant in the 55-meter dash.

On January 25th at the Middlesex League Championship, Malone set a new school record in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.62 seconds. In doing so, she won the league title. This Friday, she will compete in the Division 3 State Championship at Reggie Lewis, attempting to lower her time and qualify for All States.
