Curbside Leaf Pickup, Household Hazardous Waste Event In Wakefield

The town also released information on trash and recycling pickup effects due to Monday's holiday.

WAKEFIELD, MA — This Saturday, November 9, the community can take advantage of curbside leaf pickup and a Household Hazardous Waste event. From 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., residents can come to Wakefield Memorial High School at 60 Farm St. to properly dispose of Household Hazardous Waste. Learn more about materials that can be collected.

Curbside yard-waste collection will also take place on November 9. Yard waste must be curbside prior to 7 a.m. in biodegradable paper bags or barrels. Plastic bags cannot be collected. Please cut branches into 3’ lengths or less and tie in bundles no more than 18” in diameter. Another collection will take place on November 23.

Holiday Week for Refuse and Recycling Collection

The Veterans Day holiday on November 11 will impact refuse and recycling collection. The week will follow a holiday schedule, with Monday’s collection moving to Tuesday, Tuesday’s collection to Wednesday, and so on. Town Hall, the Senior Center, and Lucius Beebe Memorial Library will be closed on Veterans Day. Many municipal tasks can be performed online, including permit applications, tax and water payments, and more. If you need to drop off any paperwork, feel free to utilize the black dropboxes on the side of the building by the accessible parking spaces. In addition, the Library's website features a wide array of digital resources, including ebooks, newspapers, audiobooks, music, movies, and more.
