Ed Dombroski Running For Re-Election To Wakefield Town Council

Dombroski, an attorney and business owner, was elected to the Town Council in 2017 and named chair last year.

WAKEFIELD, MA — Town Council Chair Ed Dombroski is seeking re-election to a second term. Dombroski, a Chestnut Street resident, is an attorney and business owner. He pulled papers for the April 28 town election Monday.

"Serving on the Town Council is a true honor," Dombroski said in a statement. "I have enjoyed meeting and working with so many amazing people and am proud of my accomplishments working to better our community. Wakefield is a great place to call home. I’m eager to continue this work to ensure our Town continues to thrive and is a great place to live and work, always moving Wakefield forward."

Dombroski was first elected to the Town Council in 2017 after serving on the Finance Committee. He was named the Town Council chair last year.

Fiscal Responsibility & Problem Solving

  • Developing a new budget-neutral program that has improved parking availability downtown, after decades of challenges
  • Leading the “Envision Wakefield Downtown Revitalization” project, estimated to secure approximately $15 Million in state funding to Wakefield for downtown infrastructure improvements
  • Successfully advocating for tax relief for residential taxpayers and business owners and supporting tax relief for our Seniors, while maintaining fiscal responsibility and programs funding Public Safety & Veterans Services

Creating and serving as Chair of the Public Safety Building Reassessment Committee to
find a solution for our Police Department and their needs for a more effective space

  • Consistently advocating for the needs of Police, Fire, and Public Works Departments through the budgeting process
  • Supporting programs and services to honor and support Veterans in the community Education
  • Serving as a member of the delegation representing Wakefield before the MA School Building Authority for Wakefield Memorial High School’s acceptance into program
  • Proven record of consistently supporting educational needs of our students and respecting teachers and School Department personnel, through every annual budget while serving on Finance Committee and now Town Council Lake & Environment
  • Creating the "Wakefield CommuniTREE Program," in collaboration with DPW, to reverse Town-wide tree deficit into a surplus within the next two years
  • Spearheading the creation of the Clean Lake Committee, a comprehensive, multi-year clean waters initiative with the ultimate goal of making Lake Quannapowitt swimmable and fishable again Innovation & Transparency
  • Robust overhauling of Town Council Meetings, leading to improved transparency, processes, and committee connections, including the online publishing of agendas with additional supporting materials well in advance of meetings
  • Serving on the Sign By-Law Committee, comprehensively revamping current by-laws and developing a streamlined, business-friendly process
  • Convening a “Tri-Board Meeting” (Town Council, Finance Committee, School Committee) fostering collaboration and dialogue on the overall fiscal priorities for the Town Efficiency & Responsiveness
  • Spearheading improvements to budgeting process, working directly with the Finance Committee to create better, more efficient practices
  • Supporting initiatives to create a more responsive government such as overhauling of the Town’s website into a more user-friendly and interactive experience and expanding Wakefield’s social media presence to provide information to residents

Town Elections will be held on Tuesday, April 28 at the Galvin Middle School.
