Fakes and Forgeries in Historic Artifacts

 

The Sisterhood of Temple Emmanuel of Wakefield invites area residents to an interactive talk by Certified Appraiser, Elizabeth Berman who is an expert in interpreting the cultural treasures of Jews throughout the world.   Helping individuals understand and assess the value of Jewish art and artifacts in private collections is one of her great joys and done with a great wealth of professional dedication and experience.
 

Ms. Berman is an accredited appraiser, specializing in modern and contemporary art, Judaica, historical papers, and American and European fine arts and antiquities. She is the President of Judaica in Context and Collections in Context. In addition to being an independent appraiser for private collectors and museums, she has also served as curator at the B’nai B’rith Klutznick National Jewish Museum, guest curator at the United States Holocaust Museum, and curator at the Jewish Historical Society of Maryland.  She is a Certified Member (AAA) of the Appraisers Association of America with over 30 years of experience working in and with museums and private collectors.

The program will begin at 7:30.  There is no charge for this program which will be held in the social hall of Temple Emmanuel at  120 Chestnut Street, Wakefield.
