The Standing Room Only season finale features one of New
England’s top brass quintets and colleagues joining the remarkable talents of pianist George Lopez. Selections include Love is Here to Stay, I’ve Got Rhythm, a Porgy and Bess suite and a special arrangement of the well-loved piano concerto Rhapsody in Blue with Mr. Lopez. Non-Gershwin tunes include music in baroque and Brazilian styles. Ending the first half is a spectacular tribute to five decades of trumpet solos by Jay Daly, many times the lead trumpet for
tours of the Artie Shaw Orchestra.
