Seventy years ago this July, in an effort to escape the Nazi’s, Otto Frank led his family up the stairs to the attic that was to be their home for almost two years. The Quannapowitt Players dedicate these performances in remembrance of all those who lost their lives to the Holocaust.

The Diary of Anne Frank captures the claustrophobic realities of the daily existence for a young girl and seven others hiding from the Nazis in an Amsterdam attic. Through their fear, hope, laughter and grief, over two dark years, Anne’s voice shines through: “When I write I shake off all my cares. But I want to achieve more than that. I want to be useful and bring enjoyment to all people, even those I’ve never met. I want to go on living even after my death.” Through this powerful adaptation by Wendy Kesselman, Anne’s words are reborn for a new generation.
