Wakefield Summer Band Presents Friday at the Bandstand

The Wakefield Summer Band, now in its 10th season of giving free summer concerts for the community, is open to anyone without audition, and presents 4 concerts each summer in a (usually) Friday night series at the bandstand. Our first was July 1, and next 3 are this Friday, 7/22, Aug. 12, and Aug. 26. All start at 7 PM except the last one, which we have to move up to 6:30 due to less daylight. The membership of the band is multi-generational, with members ranging in age from high school to 70's, and is primarily aimed at high-schoolers or college students who want to keep playing over the summer and post-college musicians who otherwise wouldn't get to play in any kind of a group like this.

Our repertoire ranges from Sousa marches to Broadway selections to patriotic music to arrangements of classical repertoire to novelty pieces.

Grab the kids, a neighbor, a chair or blanket, and head on down to this fun, free, Friday festivity!
