Event Spotlight: New England Tenors Concert, CD Release Party
At the Standing Room Only Concert Series, tonight at 7 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church.

On Saturday, October 15, at 7 p.m. the New England Tenors will perform at the Standing Room Only concert series at the , 326 Main St in Wakefield.

New England Tenors is a 3-voice ensemble that harmonizes the appealing sounds of a classical tenor, an Irish tenor and an operatic tenor. Accompanied by piano, violin and percussion, John Middleton-Cox, Damien Corcoran and Ray Bauwens perform a wide range of styles, including songs of inspiration, love songs, a West Side Story set, songs from The Secret Garden, and operatic favorites, such as Time to Say Goodbye and O Sole Mio.
With its first CD fully produced and set for shrink-wrapping this week, New England Tenors are now planning to celebrate the release of their first recording at the . The theme of the 2011-2012 SRO annual series is “Voices of New England”.

Standing Room Only is a subscription series of four concerts in Wakefield, Massachusetts that benefits The Building Fund at 326 Main Street, also the home of the Unitarian Universalist Church and the Linden Tree Coffeehouse.
New England Tenors is an ensemble that harmonizes the appealing sounds of a classical tenor, an Irish tenor and an operatic tenor. Titled “The New England Tenors: It All Started Tonight”, the new disc includes a West Side Story set with Tonight, Maria and Somewhere, love songs that include On The Street Where You Live and Love Changes Everything, a Secret Garden set with A Bit of Earth and Lily’s Eyes, among others, an inspirational group that includes You’ll Never Walk Alone and You Raise Me Up, a couple of well-loved opera arias: Time to Say Goodbye and O Sole Mio, and many more great songs.

Following the concert is an artist reception with New England food to reflect the Voices of New England theme. Classic New England clam chowder, apple tartlets and mulled cider are among the tasty offerings. Admission to the reception is free to subscribers.
Other concerts in the third SRO season include Candlelight Christmas III, Classical Masterpieces and Holiday Favorites on December 18; Love and Chocolate, a Valentine Concert with New England Light Opera on the evening of February 14; and New England Brass Plays Gershwin on April 7.
Subscriptions are $85 and $75 (seniors 65+ and students) and are available online at www.sroconcerts.org or by sending a check made to “Wakefield UU Church” to SRO/Wakefield UU Church, PO Box 529, Wakefield, MA 01880. Subscribers receive several benefits, including reserved seating and free passes to artist receptions. Approximately 20 subscription seats remain.
Single tickets are $25 and $20 (seniors and students) and are available online at www.sroconcerts.org, by mail at the address above, and at two ticket outlets in Wakefield: Parker Florist at 9 Lincoln Street and The Queen’s Vault at 85 Albion Street.
