Ever wanted to get involved in Wakefield politics? Ever thought you could do it better than those guys? Now's your chance.

Nomination papers are available at the Town Clerk's office for 10 different Wakefield positions, a total of 18 openings. March 1 is the last day to obtain nomination papers with March 5 the last day to submit those papers for certification. March 19 is the last day to file those nomination papers with the Town Clerk. The Wakefield town election is April 23.

There are three seats available with the Town Council with Anthony Longo, Peter May, and Ann McGonigle Santos currently holding the positions. A seat at the Town Council table is for three years.

There are three seats available on the School Committee, again with three-year terms. Those positions are currently held by Greg Liakos, Thomas Markham, and Ron Masse.

Other positions available include Town Treasurer, Moderator, Library Trustees (3), Planning Board, Board of Health, Board of Assessors, Gas & Light Commissioner (2), and Constables (2).

If you're okay letting others do the work but want to make sure and vote, the voter registration deadline is April 3.
