Gov. Baker endorses Rep. Donald Wong - Visits Wakefield on Friday

Gov Charlie Bake will visit Wakefield on Friday.

In the final week of the 2016 elections, Representative Donald H. Wong has received the endorsement of Governor Charlie Baker, who will be joining the campaign for a rally with voters at Brother’s Deli Restaurant in Wakefield on Friday, November 4, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. During his visit, Governor Baker will express support for Rep. Wong’s record of proven leadership and ability to deliver stronger schools, safer streets and economic development for the communities of Saugus, Wakefield and Lynn.

“Donald believes in a state government that works for the people, and he has been a tireless advocate on Beacon Hill for the residents of the Ninth Essex District,” said Governor Bake

Over the past six years, Rep. Wong has protected working families from tax increases, cut wasteful spending, and delivered more local aid every single year, priorities that dovetail with Governor Baker’s bipartisan vision for a thrifty and creative state government that works as hard as the residents of Massachusetts.

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of Governor Baker, a longtime advocate for working families who understands that state government exists to serve its cities and towns, not the other way around,” said Rep. Wong. “Whether fighting for Wakefield’s new Galvin Middle School, deliver funding to Saugus for addiction prevention, or new approaches to community policing in the City of Lynn, I have worked with Democrats and Republicans to put the needs of our families first. I look forward to joining Governor Baker on Friday as we encourage voters to continue supporting policies that are building stronger communities.”
