Lahey Health and Rotary Club of Wakefield to Sponsor Boys & Girls Clubs Open Parks in Wakefield
Program gives youth multiple options this Summer!

With the summer approaching, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Stoneham & Wakefield have announced that they will be running two Open Parks Programs at JJ Round Park and Moulton Park.
However, the Boys & Girls Clubs are not the only group that wants to provide our youth with a great summer. Thanks to the generosity of Lahey Health and the Rotary Club of Wakefield, the entire Open Parks Programs will be expanded.
"As a Rotarian, we want to make sure our community's youth has a place to go in the Summer to avoid risky behaviors. However, more importantly as s a mother, knowing that the Clubs are running this type of program gives me the peace of mind to know that my children will be safe and having fun when school is out." Kathy Boyle of the Wakefield Rotary.
An Open Parks Program would allow children to come to the park as they please, and for parents to know that a Boys & Girls Club staff member will be there to supervise, ensure safety, and organize a variety of activities throughout the Summer. Activities would include, but not be limited to, Arts & Crafts, Gardening, and Intramural Sports.

"One goal of every community is to make sure its young people are healthy. This means keeping children active, continuing to educate them, and ensuring their safety throughout the Summer. We at Lahey Health are happy to partner with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Stoneham & Wakefield to do just that. By sponsoring Open Parks, youth throughout the area, can go to parks with supervision, be educated about a variety of topics from healthy habits to substance abuse prevention, and be active throughout the day," stated Christine Healey, Director of Community Relations, at Lahey Health.
The Open Parks Program will open Monday July 11th and will run until Friday August 26th. The program itself will run Monday-Friday each week and will run between the hours of 9:00 am – 3:00 pm with an hour lunch break 12-1. In Stoneham the program runs from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm with an hour lunch break from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. The program is set up as a drop-in program so kids may come and go as they please. Registration can be done at the time of drop-off at one of the parks. Or online here: Stoneham Open Parks Registration Form OR Wakefield Open Parks Registration Form.
