Majority of Wakefield Board of Selectmen Endorse Donald Wong Local Leaders Cite Humility, Proven Leadership
Re. Wong receives Wakefield Selectmen endorsement
In a showing of local support, State Representative Donald H. Wong today received the endorsement of six of the seven members of the Wakefield Board of Selectmen. In their endorsements, this bipartisan group of local leaders cited Rep. Wong’s ability to work across the aisle, delivering results for public safety, education and critical infrastructure no matter who gets the credit.
“I am honored by the kind words from these local officials who best understand what the residents of Wakefield need to build a stronger community,” said Rep. Wong. “My campaign has always been about building bridges, and today’s endorsement is another sign that our message is resonating with the leaders of Wakefield, Saugus and Lynn.”
In his endorsement letter, Patrick Glynn, Chair of the Wakefield Board of Selectmen, praised Rep. Wong’s record of proven leadership in helping deliver critical funds for public education and public safety.

“Good local government requires teamwork and collaboration. As a former local official, Donald Wong understands that,” said Chairman Glynn. “He also understands that state government exists to support its cities and towns. I am proud to endorse his candidacy and ask all voters to join me in re-electing Donald Wong as State Representative.”
Echoing those words, Vice Chairman Paul DiNocco cited Rep. Wong’s delivery of critical funds for road and bridge repairs, as well as the protection of the 5:15 PM commuter rail stop from elimination.

“If we elected bridge builders like Donald Wong at every level of government, I have no doubt that our country would not be in its current state of divisiveness,” said Vice Chairman DiNocco. “Luckily for the residents of Wakefield, we have the chance to do just that by re-electing a proven leader who will continue to humbly deliver safer streets, stronger schools, and strategies for economic development.”
The other endorsing Selectmen, Phyllis Hull, Anthony Longo, Peter May and Brian Falvey echoed the comments of the Chairman and Vice Chairman.
