The Massachusetts House of Representatives unanimously approved a Chapter 90 bond bill

The Massachusetts House of Representatives unanimously approved a Chapter 90 bond bill (H 2783) that will provide $200 million in local road projects. The bill must go through the Senate for approval before being signed by Governor Charlie Baker.
“It's always great when the State, Cities, and Towns work together to benefit the residents of the Commonwealth,” State Representative Donald Wong (R-Saugus) said in announcing the unanimous vote.
Under the bill, the three communities in Representative Wong’s district will receive a combined total of more than $2.8 million, as passed by the House. Lynn will receive $1,505,342.61, Saugus will receive $642,034.54 and Wakefield will receive $671,225.44.

Massachusetts is one of the only states that provides this type unrestricted local transportation aid to its cities and towns. The Legislature passes a Chapter 90 bill each year.
The Senate is not expected to hold a formal session until early April.
