Nicole Lee of Wakefield presented Obstacles to Maintaining a Stroke Team at Coverdell Learning Session

Experts from the Chelsea Jewish Foundation discussed outcomes from their participation in the Coverdell Stroke Program.

Experts from the Chelsea Jewish Foundation discussed outcomes from their participation in the Coverdell Stroke Program at the Systems of Care Learning Session #9, held recently at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel. Terry Halliday, Vice President of Business Development Chelsea Jewish Foundation and Nicole Lee, Director of Therapy Services for the Brudnick Center for Living, presented “Lessons Learned: Brudnick Center Living and the Coverdell Journey.” The presentation focused on obstacles faced, processes implemented and the successes of maintaining a stroke team. The Coverdell Stroke Program, which creates a culture to connect health care professional across the system of care aims to improve stroke care and save lives.

“At the Brudnick Center for Living, we strive to provide exceptional care to all our patients,” said Terry Halliday, Vice President of Business Development Chelsea Jewish Foundation. “We are proud to be working hand in hand with the Coverdell National Acute Stroke Program and helping stroke patients return to the community.”

Stroke is the fourth-leading cause of death in the Commonwealth, and a leading cause of adult disability. Immediate assessment and treatment is critical to help improve outcomes.
