North Shore 'When Unmarried Parents Separate' workshop

Workshop for professionals who help people in/through divorce process of all disciplines, covering the unique aspects for unmarried parents.

PEABODY — “When Unmarried Parents Separate” is a workshop for professionals, covering the unique legal, financial and emotional consequences families face when unmarried people dissolve a relationship. These may differ significantly from cases where married couples divorce.

Attorney Karen M. Buckley, whose practice focuses on family law as well as debtor and creditor issues, is experienced in civil litigation. She also serves as a conciliator in Suffolk and Norfolk Probate and Family Court and is regularly appointed as Attorney for the Child in Middlesex and Norfolk Probate and Family Court.

The two-hour session will include lecture and discussion and allow time for meeting and talking with other professionals. It will run from 9-11 a.m. May 26 at The Boston Marriott Peabody, 8A Centennial Drive, Peabody.

The workshop is offered through The Divorce Center, a nonprofit educational organization whose members include professionals in disciplines ranging from law to financial and family counseling and mediation.
