Photos: Orchestra Night Concert

Presented by the Wakefield Public Schools Music Department.

String players from the Galvin Middle School and the Wakefield Memorial High School presented a full evening of music on Thursday in the Galvin auditorium. Led by music department faculty Thomas Bankert and Deanna Leedy, the musicians regrouped several times during the concert to form chamber ensembles and string orchestras. The program included classical selections by Vivaldi, Moussorgsky and Handel, as well as delightful contemporary pieces. Audiences members' heads nodded in recognition as they heard the "Mission Impossible Theme," "Ashokan Farewell" from the PBS Civil War series,  and Green Day pop standard "Boulevard of Broken Dreams."
