School funding and rising school building costs were some of many topics featured in a state senate candidates forum in Wakefield last week.

Democrat Jason Lewis and Republican Ed Dombroski met in a debate on Monday ahead of early voting this weekend and Election Day next month.
“Government works best when it is open to everyone,” says Dombroski.
Wakefield will host early voting across roughly two weeks before next month's general election.
The town is looking to appoint a voting Zoning Board of Appeals member and non-voting student Environmental Sustainability Committee members
"We all deserve better from our elected leaders," said Dombroski.
Dombroski is a Republican seeking to represent the 5th Middlesex District in the Massachusetts State Senate.
Lewis and Dombroski are campaigning to represent Malden, Melrose, Stoneham, Wakefield, Reading and parts of Winchester in the State Senate.
The councilors include Mehreen Butt (Chair), Jonathan Chines (Vice-Chair), Julie Smith-Galvin, Mike McLane, and Bob Vincent.
Wakefield residents have a chance to be appointed to a variety of open seats in town government.
Democratic and Republican Wakefield voters each had a number of statewide races to weigh in on in this year's state primary.
