Rep. Wong Announces Committee Assignments

Republican State Rep., whose district includes part of Wakefield, to serve on three committees in coming term.

State Rep. Donald Wong, a Saugus Republican whose district includes part of Wakefield, has announced that he will serve on three committees in the coming legislative session.

Wong will serve on the influential Ways and Means Committee, which oversees the state budget and other fiscal matters, for another term. He will also be a member of the Joint Committee on Tourism, Arts and Cultural Development, as well as the Joint Committee on Financial Services.

“I am honored to be named to these committees and look forward to using my business acumen to not only help the three communities in my district, but all communities across the Commonwealth as a member of the important committees,” the second-term legislator said in a statement.

Along with serving in the state legislature, Wong is the owner of the Kowloon Restaurant on Route 1 in Saugus.

“I intend to keep my finger on the pulse of local aid as a Member of the Ways and Means Committee and will certainly devote the time and attention these assignments – and the people of Massachusetts – deserve.”
