State Representative Donald H. Wong recently testified on behalf of the HOME Act, An Act relative to Housing, Operations, Military Service and Enrichment, during a recent session of the House of Representatives. The bill, which unanimously passed by a vote of 151 – 0, included an amendment filed by Representative Wong would enable residents to check-off a box on their municipal real estate and excise tax forms to donate any amount of their choosing above the tax owed to go directly to the local Veteran's Services Department, similar to programs he helped to establish in Wakefield and Saugus, two of the communities he represents. All donations will be kept locally, and used to serve local veterans.
