TSB Senior Vice President Raichelle Kallery appointed to the Economic Empowerment Trust Fund Board

Raichelle Kallery, Senior Vice President – Senior Retail Banking Officer at The Savings Bank, was recently appointed to the Economic Empowerment Trust Fund Board by Senate Minority Leader Bruce Tarr. The fund serves as a valuable tool within the Massachusetts State Treasury to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents across the Commonwealth. Created pursuant to Section 31 of Chapter 46 of the Acts of 2015, the Economic Empowerment Trust Fund promotes the long-term economic security and stability of all Massachusetts residents. Its mission is to educate and provide the resources and opportunities for people of all ages to empower themselves, with access to the knowledge and tools to make informed decisions throughout their lives. In collaboration with other public agencies and community-based organizations, the Trust Fund creates and support programs, policies, and capacities that achieve these goals. Priorities include financial education, closing the gender wage gap, college affordability, and promoting STEM education. Programmatic goals of the Trust Fund are implemented through the Massachusetts Treasurer’s Office of Economic Empowerment. As a member of the 20-member Board of Trustees, Senior Vice President Kallery will serve alongside state officials including the State Treasurer, Attorney General, Undersecretary of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation, the Commissioner of Elementary and Secondary Education, Secretary of Education, Secretary of Housing and Economic Development or their designees, as well as professionals with expertise in education, financial services, biotechnology, health care, computers or mathematics, life/ physical or social sciences, fundraising, and architecture or engineering. “I am honored to be appointed by the Senate Minority Leader to this position,” Senior Vice President Kallery said. “I am excited to be a part of this Trust Fund that addresses such vitally important economic empowerment programs, such as financial literacy programs, college savings accounts in cooperation with the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority, and college and career readiness programs, particularly in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math; and supporting and promoting wage equality.” “I look forward to the challenges and successes that Board membership will present,” Senior Vice President Kallery concluded.
