Visit with PAWS kittens and cats on Saturday morning from 10am-Noon

From 10am until Noon, the PAWS office (at 411 Lowell Street, Wakefield) will host a Meet & Greet event with adorable, ready to adopt cats and kittens. PAWS expects to present 2 kittens, Panda and Red Panda, as well as 4 felines over 1 year old (Stellan, Rexford, Percy, Fatima). Other cats will be available for visiting in their foster homes during those same hours or by appointment and still more can be met at the Kitty Cat Café. PAWS’ adoptable cats have a short biographical write-up on the website, pawswakefieldma.org, and most of them have also been featured on the PAWS Facebook page.

As kittens and young cats are usually in high demand, it’s strongly recommended that you complete an adoption application before Saturday, so the adoption coordinators can start the vetting and matching process.The application can be found on the PAWS website.An adoption fee is only charged after a match is made and the cat or kitten is ready to go to its new home.By filling out an application now, the adoption counselors can review the personalities and needs of its cats and compare that against the profile of the inquiring person or family.Since some of PAWS’ cats have their meet-ups in their foster home, rather than at the office, an application ensures that all adoption-available cats can be considered for a match, not just the ones who are seen at the office during a Meet & Greet event.

Red Panda and Panda are both females from the same litter, a little over 4 months old. They’ve had their vaccinations, been spayed and are ready for their forever homes. They must be adopted as a pair, as they have bonded to one another.

If you're looking for a calm, gentle companion with a truly majestic presence, come meet Stellan, a handsome, lovable and easygoing young adult cat who just turned two. He absolutely adores being pampered: being brushed, petted, and having his chin scratched.He's wonderful with people, patient with children (currently in a foster home with a 6-year-old and 11-year-old), and has never shown any inclination to nip, bite, or play rough.

Rexford is a very good, sweet boy between 1-2 years old and would be the purrrrfect starter cat for anyone new to cats or thinking about their first pet. He’s easy to care for and easy going, just looking for a family of his own to give him all the love and attention he deserves. He would be well suited in a family of any kind, especially in home where people are around a lot, but would be best with children old enough to respect his limits. Rexford loves catnip toys, chasing the laser pointer and his cat tower. He would likely do well in a home with a fellow chill doggy or kitty cat sibling, but we do not believe small pets like mice, hamsters, guinea pigs, birds would not be a good fit with him.

Percy is an elegant, long-haired black-and-white tuxedo, whose shiny coat is finished off with a lush plume of a tail.A quiet boy; the little chirps he makes at birds and squirrels are his only sounds. He loves attention, rubbing against your legs, curling around your ankles, taking some pets and ear scratches. Percy will do best in a home with adults and older children who will understand a cat’s body language.We think this 4-yr old would do well with a playful cat who needs a companion.

Don’t miss meeting our fabulous Fatima, the only female adult cat coming this Saturday, she is a lovely 3-year-old brown tabby, as sweet as they come. A loving companion who enjoys being close to her people, she's happiest lounging nearby, keeping you company, and soaking up affection with her gentle, easy-going personality. She enjoys playing with dangling toys and is also an excellent little hunter—any fly that dares wander into the house doesn't stand a chance!

Before they are made available for adoption, all PAWS cats have had a vet examination, been spayed or neutered, received age-appropriate vaccinations, tested for feline leukemia, dewormed at least once, and microchipped. Other tests and procedures may have been provided, depending on their age and health status when they came into PAWS’ care. PAWS (Protection of Animals in Wakefield Society, Inc.) is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit animal welfare organization and foster network, founded in 1982 by the late Esther Nowell. It serves many communities north and west of Boston.
