Wakefield 2016 Election Day Coverage: Unofficial Local Results Are In

The unofficial voting results are in for Wakefield.

WAKEFIELD, MA – The election results are in, and Wakefield voters have favored Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton over Republican Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election.

According to the unofficial results from the town clerk’s office, Clinton won 53.26 percent of the vote, compared to Trump’s 39 percent of the vote. Third party candidates Gary Johnson and Jill Stein earned 4.34 and 1.03 respectively.

Incumbent 5th District Senator Jason Lewis won Wakefield 61.52 percent of the vote compared to Republican challenger Vincent Dixon's 38.33 percent of the vote.

In the 9th Essex District Representative race, Wakefield voters favored incumbent Donald H. Wong over challenger Jennifer Migliore by a count of 55.54 percent to 44.41 percent.

Overall, there was a turnout of 82.78 percent of Wakefield's registered voters. .
