Wakefield Awarded More Than $600K In Grants For 2 Housing Projects
The state announced funding for the projects via the Community One Stop For Growth program.
WAKEFIELD, MA — Wakefield received more than $600,000 from the state for two housing-related projects.
The state announced the funding as part of the FY24 Round of the Community One Stop for Growth that presented nearly $164 million in funding to 338 economic development projects in 161 communities this week.
Wakefield was awarded $79,000 via the Housing Choice Grant Program to "update or create a new Housing Production Plan to assist in meeting new housing goals for the community."

The town was also awarded $571,913 through the HousingWorks Infrastructure Program to install a new sidewalk extension to connect the Tarrant Lane Apartments to the town's sidewalk network.
The funds will also support two other affordable developments on Summit Avenue with an additional 130 residential units.
