Wakefield Lynnfield Chamber Hosts Healthy Living Expo this Saturday, September 16th at the Americal Civic Center

Flu Clinic from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.; Blades the Bruins Mascot will appear from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The Wakefield Lynnfield Chamber of Commerce Healthy Living Expo will be held this Saturday, September 16th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Americal Civic Center, 467 Main Street, Wakefield.

This free family event is focused on health, wellness, fitness, lifestyle changes and financial/retirement health, and will feature interactive and complimentary health screenings, fitness demonstrations, giveaways, prize drawings, a flu clinic from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., an appearance by Blades the Bruins mascot from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., face painting and balloon artist, among other family-friendly activities and demonstrations.

The Healthy Me Wall, created by the Wakefield Unified Prevention Coalition’s Youth Action Team comprised of high school students, will be among the highlights of the expo. This interactive exhibit encourages attendees to make a "Healthy Me Pledge" and post their pledge on the wall to sign the deal! Attendees will sign a pledge to get active by exercising at least three times a week for 60 minutes; eating healthier by increasing consumption of fruits and vegetables, drinking more water, limiting consumption of junk foods; and knowing important numbers like weight, BMI, cholesterol, blood pressure, and checking those numbers with their doctor. Members of the Wakefield Unified Prevention Coalition Youth Action Team will be on hand to assist attendees in signing the pledge that will be added on a leaf on the community health tree.

A Physical Therapist, Nutritionist, and Pharmacist will be among the health care professionals that will be available to answer questions.
