Area residents had the opportunity to learn more about Wakefield Main Streets, Inc., on Saturday at the Wakefield Farmer’s Market. Members of the organization’s board of Directors were at the market to meet local residents, give out Wakefield Main Streets shopping bags, and gather support for the work ahead - revitalizing downtown together.
Passersby were asked to write a note about what they like about downtown Wakefield and what they want to see more of in downtown Wakefield, while learning more about the non-profit community organization that was founded in 2014. The group is charged with working to establish and promote downtown Wakefield as a vibrant, inviting destination by fostering historic preservation, economic renewal, and community involvement.
“Look for Wakefield Main Streets' ‘Small Business Spotlight’ in local papers in the coming months profiling local businesses that make our downtown so unique,” Wakefield Main Streets, Inc., President Paul DiNocco said. “Kidcasso and Wakefield Jewelers were recently featured and we look forward to showcasing several more. In addition, we recently placed four planters on Main Street to enhance the aesthetic appeal of downtown Wakefield.”
