Wakefield Police Receive Anonymous Gift of Pizza Following Iowa Police Shooting
An anonymous person had pizzas delivered to the Wakefield police station, following the shooting death of two Iowa officers.

WAKEFIELD, MA — Police officers in Wakefield will patrol the streets this afternoon with a full belly Wednesday, thanks to a generous act by an anonymous Wakefield resident following the tragic shooting of two officers in Iowa.
On Wednesday afternoon, Wakefield Police posted an image of two pizzas that were sent to the police department by an anonymous donor. On the side of the pizza boxes, the words "Sorry for Iowa" were written on the side.
"To the nice person who anonymously had pizzas delivered for our shift with a message, we thank you," wrote the department on Facebook.

Early Wednesday morning, two Iowa police officers were gunned down in "ambush-style" attacks while they sat in their patrol cars. This is not the first attack on police officers this year, as attacks in Dallas and Baton Rouge have rocked the law enforcement community.

Wakefield police offered their support and thoughts to the Des Moines and Urbandale, IA, police departments, and thanked the resident for their kind gesture.
