Wakefield – Whether it was learning water safety, touring emergency vehicles, or understanding basic police skills, the Boys & Girls Club of Wakefield teamed up with the Wakefield Police and their friends to make this summer a memorable one.

Led by Officer Kelley Tobyne, Officer Michael Pietrantonio, and Officer Jason Skillings the officers spent nearly every week of the Summer with Club kids. Along the way they brought in Wakefield Fire, other officers, and Loomis where security officers Alfred and Richard gave members tours’ of their armored vehicles.

“The most important thing we do at our Clubs is keep our children safe. Our job is made easy by the incredible support of Wakefield Police and especially Officers Tobyne, Pietrantonio, and Skillings,” stated Director of Development Anthony Guardia.

Officer Tobyne commented “This partnership was a great way to encourage kids to interact with their local police and to show them that the Wakefield Police Officers are here to support them. It also allowed us to give the kids some insight to the role of a police officer in the community and why we love our jobs.”
