Wakefield Recycling & Sustainability Day Coming Up
'Spring clean your clutter for a cause' at the event next month.
WAKEFIELD, MA — The Town of Wakefield and State Rep. Kate Lipper-Garabedian (D-Melrose) are hosting Wakefield Recycling & Sustainability Day.
The event will be April 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Wakefield High School.

At the event, Wakefield residents can recycle their old dehumidifiers and learn about existing programs and new Community Solar options with Wakefield Municipal Gas & Light Department; engage with a variety of local groups; learn more about the Wakefield Environmental Sustainability Committee and participate in its recycling of plastic pet packaging and batteries; and consider sustainable practices with organizations like Black Earth Compost. The event also will feature a paper shredding truck.
For a competitive fee for services rendered (approximately one-third market cost), participants can upcycle gently used furniture, appliances, housewares, and building materials with Habitat for Humanity or recycle outdated electronics with peace of mind for proper data erasing with Green Team Junk Removal.

*With no fee per car upcycle up to two pieces of gently used furniture, electronics, clothing, housewares, etc. Additional fees for TVs ($20), monitors ($20), window ACs ($190), mattresses ($45), boxsprings ($45), and tires ($12).
