Wakefield Repertory Theatre Elects New Board Members

Wakefield Repertory Theatre (WRT) announces new leadership of its board and new members.

Rob McRobbie (of Wakefield) will assume the position of board president. Margaret Sanford (Melrose) will take on the position of board treasurer and Denise DiTonno (Wakefield) as board clerk, making up the remaining Executive Board. New Members at Large include Jeff Berlin (Melrose), Jenney Cheever (Wakefield), Andrea DiTonno (Tewksbury), and Audrey Vandervelde (Melrose), joining existing Members Ron Lomasney (Wakefield) and Troy Patterson (Wilmington).

“We are excited to welcome our newest board members who bring a wide breadth of experiences and skills, a passion for theatre and arts, and a strong desire to help WRT grow and thrive. Our goal is to carry on the good reputation WRT has in our community of providing entertaining theatre and sharing this passion with today’s youth”, said President Rob McRobbie.

The first order of business for this new board is to staff and produce the annual Youth Summer Camp running June 25th through August 1st and culminating with live performances at Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School, August 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.

Wakefield Repertory Theatre is a non-profit organization started in 1991 by former Wakefield High School theatre teacher Ron Chibaro and Tom Merchant who organized the Wakefield Community Education program for many years. WRT is dedicated to bringing great community theatre to Wakefield and its surrounding towns. The 2018 Summer Camp will produce its 34th full stage youth musical production and 89th stage show for the organization. Past youth shows include Peter Pan, Annie, Alice in Wonderland, Seussical the Musical, and Willy Wonka.
