Wakefield Resident Running the Boston Marathon in Support of JDRF

Patrick Glynn of Wakefield, MA will be running in the 120th Boston Marathon on April 18 in support of the New England Chapter of JDRF.

Patrick Glynn of Wakefield, MA will be running in the 120th Boston Marathon on April 18 in support of the New England Chapter of JDRF, the leading global organization focused on type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. This year marks Glynn's 5th year not only running the Marathon but running for a cause. Glynn is running on behalf of a close friend's daughter who was recently diagnosed with T1D.

"I am running on behalf of a young lady who has the heart of a lion! In a short period of time, Lilly and her family have embraced T1D and have become a very strong voice for JDRF and its mission. Lilly is the face of type 1 and she is living beyond type 1," stated Glynn.

The funds raised through the Boston Marathon will be directed by JDRF toward funding research to find a cure for T1D and its complications and to develop transformative treatments that enable people with T1D to live healthier, safer lives until that cure is found. In addition, the funds will support JDRF's local Outreach programs for individuals and families in eastern and central Massachusetts.
