Wakefield Vote Aligns With State Results
More than 67 percent of registered voters turn out for Tuesday election.

More than 67 percent of Wakefield's registered voters made their way to Galvin Middle School Tuesday, an impressive showing with results that mirrored the state totals. In total, 12,885 voters cast ballots out of 19,061 registered voters, or 67.60 percent.
Governor Charlie Baker won re-election and Wakefield voters were certainly on-board. Baker earned 72.96 percent of the vote to challenger Jay Gonzalez's 26.55 percent.
Senator Elizabeth Warren earned 53.02 percent of Wakefield's vote to challenger Geoff Diehl's 43.28 percent.

Maura Healey won re-election as Attorney General, getting 66.59 percent of the Wakefield vote.
William Galvin won re-election as Secretary of State and received 69.33 percent of the Wakefield vote.

Deborah Goldberg won re-election as State Treasurer, getting 64.82 percent with challenger Keiko Orrall getting 32.39 percent.
Seth Moulton returns to congress after getting 63.84 percent of the Wakefield vote. Joseph Schneider was second with 32.34 percent.
In the race for State Auditor, Suzanne Bump finished first in Wakefield with 56.91 percent to Helen Brady's 36.36 percent.
Terrence Kennedy won the race for Councillor with 76.66 percent of Wakefield in support. Vincent Dixon was second with 22.95 percent.
Jason Lewis returns to the state senate after earning 59.23 percent of the Wakefield vote. Erin Calvo-Bacci was second with 40.69 percent.
Donald Wong won the 9th Essex seat, getting 59.26 percent of the vote to Matthew Crescenzo's 37.26 percent.
In the ballot questions, Wakefield said No. on Question 1 (nurses) with 78.10 percent to 21.90 percent voting Yes. On Question 3 (transgender), Wakefield voted Yes with 65.71 percent in support, 34.29 percent voting No.
