New England Plant Swap

Plant swaps used to be the way to a beautiful, bountiful
garden.  Before there were flats of
plants available at plant store, before there were nurseries bulging with every
plant known to humankind, before folks shelled out hundreds of dollars each
year for plants, friends and neighbors gathered to share their success and
excess.

And that’s exactly what we will be doing at Adams Farm in Walpole,
MA on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 9 am.  Gardeners
from around New England will be digging in the dirt, cleaning up their beds,
dividing their perennials, and sharing their extra seedlings and saplings.  And these are plants that THRIVE in your
neighbor’s garden and will likely thrive in yours, unlike many expensive nursery
grown plants.

It’s an old fashioned, round-robin type of plant swap.  The more you can bring, the more you can
take.  Books, tools, and anything garden
related can be brought and swapped.  And because
many with crowded gardens bring much more than they can take, there are always
plants left over for those just getting started with gardening.

Everyone is welcome.  It’s
completely free, too—even the coffee and parking!  Leave your money at home and come and meet and
mingle with the friendly gardeners at Adams Farm.  We’re also pet friendly.
