Alemany has been charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping, armed carjacking, two counts of armed robbery, two counts of armed robbery while masked, armed assault with intent to rape, stealing by confining, arson of a motor vehicle, and assault and battery.

The Suffolk County District Attorney’s office said he is also charged with attempted murder, armed assault with intent to murder, assault and battery, and aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon for two additional attacks that occurred in South Boston before and after Lord’s July 23 homicide.

Alemany has pleaded insanity in the murder of 24-year-old Lord, with his lawyers arguing that he did not know right from wrong because of mental illness, reported WHDH-TV.

On Thursday, psychologists were called to testify on behalf of the defense and prosecution. Dr. Keith Ablow, a forensic psychiatrist, said that Alemany is one of the most “profoundly sick young men” he’d ever come across, and diagnosed him with borderline personality disorder, dissociative disorder and depression, reported WHDH. Alemany, according to testimony, hears voices, wanders and doesn’t know where he is.
