Former WHS Star Marco Coppola Excelling at WPI
Marco Coppola may be the best player in the college's history, WPI coach told the Worcester Telegram.

Watertown's Marco Coppola has continued his excellence on the basketball court as a freshman at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where he leads the team in scoring in his freshman year.
WPI coach Chris Bartley told the Worcester Telegram & Gazette that Coppola may be the best player in the college's history.
“I know it’s a lot of pressure to put on him, but he’s got something special in him. I think he’s a player you can build a program around," Bartley told the Telegram. "As a freshman, that’s a lot on his shoulders, but he can handle it.”

In the first 10 games, Coppola has averaged a team-best 17.3 points for the Engineers, who are No. 17 in NCAA Div. III.
Last year, , and led Eastern Massachusetts in scoring with an average of 26.4 points a game.
